Mt. Kailash, 6,740 m. is situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, wholly within Tibet. In local Tibetan language call Khang Rinpoche (Precious Jewel of Snow) and they see it as navel of the world.Mount Kailash is the perfect mountain with awesome beauty, with 4 great different faces. It is the spiritual center for four great major religions of Buddhism, Hinduism, the Jain religion and the pre-Buddhist animistic religion - Bonpo. To Tibetans it is known as KhangRimpoche and they see it as the navel of the world. It is said that a stream from the mountain pours into a nearby lake and from here rivers flow in the four cardinal directions.
The River of the Lion Mouth to the North, the River of the Horse Mouth to the east, the River of the Peacock Mouth to the south and the River of the Elephant Mouth to the West. Strangely enough, four major rivers do indeed originate near Kailash,,four of the great rivers of the Indian subcontinent originate here, the karnali, which is feeds into the Ganges(south),Indus (North),Sutlej (west) and Bramaputra (yarlungTsangpo)east.
Sprawling below MountKailash is the sacred LakeManasarovar (4560m), where a ritual bath will deliver a pilgrim to Brahma's paradise and a drink of its water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes. The 53 Km Kailash circuit is the holiest of all Tibet's pilgrimages and the beacon which draws most travellers to Western Tibet. It is said that a Single Parikarmaerases the accumulated sins of a lifetime, while 108 circumbulationwill achieve Salvation Or Nirvana. Mt kailsah has been a lodestone to pilgrims and adventurous travelers for centuries but until recently very few had set their eyes on sacred mountain. This adventures trek is accessed via overland all the way from Kathmandu to Zangmu boarder or via Kerung boarder or via Simikot also possible to fly form Kathmandu to Lasha and and overland through the Everest base camp and reach to small town of Darchen 4560m,the starting point of trek (Kora)

I had the absolute pleasure to complete the Mt Kailash Tour with Lakpa. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Throughout the whole trip, he was always very helpful and made us feel safe and comfortable. He was always available when we needed anything. He and his whole crew worked tirelessly in those difficult conditions to ensure that we had the best trip possible and a lifetime of memories. Thanks Lakp..
